Come back from the depths right this minute!

I am once again up late finishing the reading for an essay that is due tomorrow morning at 9:30. This is my attempt at getting back on track? In my own weak defense it is not entirely my fault; Carolyn stayed in my room working, and she didn't have as much work as I do, and we talked a lot of stuff over. Nat and Ben cause us way too many problems.

I don't understand why my brain doesn't seem to work the way everyone else's does. I don't think it's normal to look at an English assignment and wonder at the change in meaning of such supposedly-familiar words as "critical" and "assumption."

I'm afraid the school will decide I'm not cut out for an English major.
