it comes back around.

today, it rained for most of the day. i stayed inside, watching ghostbusters (looooove bill murray) and attempting to do some reading for orientation. napping.

the rain eventually cleared, leaving the air cooler than it's been recently, somewhere down in the 60's, and it brought back a wave of that sensation i always get when summer is coming to an end. it's like a tug, like life trying to remind you that time is speeding along faster than you think, just a heads up. i know it's only the second day of august, but it seems to have come quickly. the autumn, scarf-sweater-and-jeans weather, that which i can't wait to get into but always makes me a little sad. and i never know why. fall is my favorite time of year, but maybe it's for that reason - that it reminds that another year will soon be dying down. it also marks the last stretch toward my birthday. maybe it's the fact that i'm a scorpio, the sign of regeneration, that makes fall mean so much to me. watching the earth crumble, at first happily welcoming the challenge and then surrendering without complaint, just freezing sleep.

in philadelphia it's supposed to be 88 degrees tomorrow. doesn't resemble autumn weather too much, i guess, but the little mental note this day told me to jot down is making me realize that school is approaching much faster than i thought. think i'll read a little more, then hit the sack. work awaits.

side note: the author of a blog i read often used a great word recently, and i think it applies very well here: uroboros.
