i am SO happy it's friday.
happiness about fridays is a funny thing. "tgif." thank god it's friday. fridays are like miniature dionysian days, and happen 52 times a year. not just in the spring.
today the office is empty. me, daniella, niel, ted. terri left for the new office about 10minutes ago. i forgot to ask missy for work for today, so i did a big copy job i'd been putting off and daniella's giving me some of her filing. it's kind of fun. daniella is on the internet all the time, too, poking around on facebook (she friended me this morning!) so we're kindred spirits, in a way. from different worlds, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.
brad j. reminded me that he lives 15 minutes from gettysburg and that i should stop by his house (farm) while i'm there. i don't know that i will. i want to spend time with macrina, and nice as the invitation is...
scratch that thought.
i was going to say that i wouldn't want to see him really because i wouldn't want things to be awkward (past make out sessions and coversations... cough?) but what the hell, carolyn? of course they wouldn't be awkward. only as awkward as you make them. and i really only want to be friends with him. THAT IS THE GOAL. to be FRIENDS. friends. and the only way to build a friendship is to spend time together, right?
this is not to say that i'm going to try my hardest to meet up with brad this weekend. if it's doable, it's doable. if it happens, it happens. maybe we'll meet up for coffee. whatever. it's just nice to know he suggested it.
the drive up tonight will be about 2 and a half hours. i look forward to creative playlists, getting lost at least once, fumbling for toll fees, and my right ass cheek starting to hurt about an hour into the drive. the last (and only) time i was in "the burg," as we've come to call it, it was cold out, wool-blanket-gray-sky-look-over-your-shoulder-and-breathe-deeply weather. i'm excited to see what the place is like in the summer. outdoor exploration! sitting outside somewhere, writing. drinking coffee. speculation.
we've got a nice little dynamic going in the office right now. discussing food, vegetarianism (i'm the spectacle here), foodnetwork shows, Anthony Bourdain.
the day is almost over, at 12:32 pm. i'll take lunch at 1. do some more filing after 2. find something else to do. hit the 4:18 and CVS when i get home.
missing A.M., in the back of my mind.
